Recently John changed his eating and sleeping patterns and we’ve adjusted well to them. For the past two days now he’s put up a fight taking formula, period. He’ll only take a couple of ounces from each bottle and forget it. I have tried putting the remaining in a sippy cup and he just gets furious. Then I offer one with water while his tizzy is going on and then he’s happy as a clam. I’ve talked to my mom and her hubby (who is a doc) and they both say that cutting him off now is ok. I just wanted some more opinions since quite a few of you who read this are mommies.
He does love his cottage cheese, cheddar, and yogurt. John gets a proper portion of those each day.
On another note, he now says, “mama”, “dada”, “nana”, and “*insert kitty hiss sound here*”. He looks at me and says mama, asks for dada while he sleeps, says nana after eating a banana, and the hiss noise when he sees a cat. All four in one day. I swear he’s an over achiever sometimes. lol Seriously, all the mobile things he did in one day, five teeth in the matter of a week, and now four words in one day.
*hugs*

Oh how cute!!!
Not to put any down play on this achievment but Roger found my blog site!!!! He is on the blog from December 31! He gave me his e-mail address!
So yeah go mama! I am so glad John is learning to walk and talk. Just watch out I hope he isn’t as picky as mine is! Sometimes it is just impossible to get him to eat anything good for him! So God bless that endeavour!!!

I don’t have any experience with formula, but if he is eating other things then I would assume he is fine. You can talk to the doctor about starting him on milk or maybe try one of the toddler style formulas. I’m glad he is starting to make sounds and sounds for things is great! Its so fun isn’t it?!

Oh yeah! The mama dada thing has been going on for a while, now he just understands that those sounds are for people…for mommy and daddy.
Roger eh? I shall definately go check that out. That goober better make his way over here too.

Caedmon started rejecting formula early. The doctor I talked to at WAAF said I could start him on milk at 11mo’s and until then she wanted me to try to push the formula or at least make up for it with other dairy products. I would just ask his doctor or the people at WIC or one of those offices if you are concerned about it. I’ll have to try to get him to say some of those words the next time I see him. The cat one sounds amusing.

I’m very behind on blog catching up– sorry. What a big boy you’ve got on your hands- teeth, words, rejecting formula. Of course I hav eno advice besides saying to talk to the doc. and see what they say. Becca’s dairy logic sounds reasonable
As long as hes getting nutrients/calories from other things he should be fine. My sister in law is in the opposite boat, wondering how to ween her 9 month old eventually off formula into eating more foods. She loves the bottle but really isn’t too interested in babyfood at the moment. LOL. Funny how different babies can be.
